Problem is, the person who refuses to wear the seat belt isn't the only one affected by their decision. A driver thrown from a vehicle cannot continue to steer it or slam the brakes, so it may careen into a crowd. A passenger can be thrown into another passenger or the driver, causing further bodily harm to the other passenger(s), and having the same loss-of-control effect on the driver. Seat belts aren't just about YOUR safety. They're about EVERYONE'S safety.

Since the phone has an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and most videos are 16:9, the unobscured view will be the default view most of the time anyway.

I'm going to have to disagree with your assessment. I work in the audiovisual department of a large multinational corporation. In my specific building, we have about 50 Crestron AV control panels that use resistive touch screens. Calibration issues run rampant with these; in any given week, I am re-calibrating at least 5 of the panels. Every single time it is the same: you will touch a button, and the actual selected area will be to the left of your finger. Every. Single. Time. Sometimes we have panels shipped off for repairs if they need to be recalibrate more frequently than the others, and even after that, sometimes the calibration will slowly slip in the same direction. So it certainly is possible that with the touchscreen voting machines, all of the panels that have calibration issues are doing so in the same or a very similar manner.

What's so "lololol" about it? It was a pretty good connector. To this day, I sometimes use a machine that uses it. The setup is super clean: the only cables I have are power from the wall to the tower, ADC from the tower to the monitor, USB from monitor to keyboard, USB from keyboard to mouse. Everything plugs in to the next in a chain and it works wonderfully.

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of cell sites per provider in the same geographical area that an FM radio station covers. Thousands of generators that need refueling for cellular, versus two for FM (the studio and the transmitter). It's much easier, logistically, to keep FM up and running during disaster than the cellular network.

I have a Fitbit Flex, and it includes a USB dongle to sync with a computer. As long as you have their background application running and the dongle in place, whenever you are within range of your computer it automatically syncs. You can then use the Fitbit website to see all the same data that the smartphone app would show you.
