All my 3 PCs (2 personal and 1 from the company) are running linux now.
And I was a win7 user. Wasn't perfect, but I could use. Win10 was enough for me.

I came running hoping that 76% of PCs were running linux
Yeap, not the year of linux desktop yet.
Again this bulshit-study where it is assumed that every pirated-material would be purchased if piracy wouldn't be on the table?
That's so 90's...
I need to say this: despite the fact that misoginy is a real problem in our society, this is just a spurious correlation.
I don't think you got the problem.
It is NOT 'buying something' that you know better and then 'selling it'.
It is buying something that NOBODY knows the value (actually, nobody knows what's inside) and, then, selling it.
When you buy, it can be LITERALLY nothing or something extremely rare and expensive. That is, by the very definition, gambling.
Of course we can all agree that gambling is just fine - but that doesn't make it less gambling.
I don't think things are black/or/white.
They won't block websites using this words. They will turn this into some kind of euphemism. Like: "You exceeded your monthly quota of broadband". At the same time, they will give you a few websites where this quota doesn't apply. It's already happening - slowly and in a very polite way, but it's happening.
I'm from Brazil. Here we have companies that give you unlimited data on WhatsApp. But if you want to use Telegram or Signal or whatever-the-fuck-you-want, your data will be charged. Think about it: after 25 days on the month, it is very likely that a significant amount of people on such kind of plans won't have access to Telegram/WhatsApp-competitor. This IS a BLOCK. It's bad for business, it's bad for us and it is bad for free speech.
That's the thing I don't get when I hear workers (like coders, developers, and engineers) saying that gig economy is nice.
I mean, you really don't get what's happening? Nobody is really winning on this, except for a few wealthy people. When they fire you to subcontract you as a 'gig', the economy on this won't go to other workers, but for executives and the owners of the companies in the transaction. You will receive less, have fewer securities, fewer benefits, so you can raise your nose and say that you are not a worker, but a contractor.
Anyway, I find very sad this state of affairs when our jobs are becoming steam and we are saying 'what a lovely steam is coming from the companies!'.
I always assumed that name as a synonym of 'assassin'. (blade runner = making the blade to run on someone's skin)
I don't really understand why Google bought Motorola to, then, sell it to Lenovo.
But it appears that if there was a good reason, this same reason was remembered again.
BTW, I think it was the only moment when Motorola did something really nice. Hope it happens again with HTC.
Don't let your nationalism blinds you.
They are in a position of inferior power towards the US gov. That's why they are in such defensive position.
And the news here are: "the us gov. is ACTUALLY spying on you and wikileaks knows how it is doing."
It's not defense, it's a rampage. Almost a genocide.
You should remember that Israel (which have one of the best armies in the world) is fighting against a ethnical group without army.
If anyone else in the world did that, We could call it a massacre, a butchery or even a genocide.
It's that true? (about the anatel backdoor)?
If it's true, it's time to show this in the light. It's outrageous, absurd and ridiculous (specially from a government that said that is wrong when talking about NSA).
Besides the 2 sources, there is anything wrote about it?
how in the hell a flamebait like this is modded +5 Informative?
And Chile is not a beacon of democracy: they had the worst dictatorship (and the longer) in the whole south america.
Yes, they have a good rate of gdp/capita. But mostly because they are sitting on a giant copper mine.
Sorry about the stupid question, but who the hell is DICE?
I'm using copy.com . It's good, reliable and the price is fine.
