Comment Re:Slide out QWERTY (Score 1) 40

I am still waiting for someone to offer a modern phone with a slide-out full qwerty keyboard. I could actually get some work done on my ancient Nokia N900 (keyboard + linux based OS), haven't been able to type efficiently since on a phone. It seems to me like a killer "enterprise" phone feature, yet nobody has given it a try.

Have you considered trying a Blackberry-factor bluetooth keyboard? I see them on AliExpress for under $8.

This is exceptionally insightful - a great way to explain to the layman exactly what a black hole _is_. Thank you.

Between the phone and adb you can disable or remove most of it

Lineage OS is not available on the current Notes and I need the stylus. If you have more information on how to disable these built in apps via adb, I'd love to hear more. I'm already using QKSMS for SMS and True Phone for the contacts and dialer.

I don't know about you, but my 21st century car still needs regular maintenance and repair.

Yes, but does it need an oil change every three months? Plugs every year? Points? Carb adjusted when "it doesn't feel right"? Choke? Flush the cooling system? Replace the brake shoes (pad last far longer and stop better). Flushed the brake fluid? Replaced the automatic transmission fluid? Set the valve lash? Set the timing? Even fuel and air filters last longer today.

Everything that I've mentioned was maintenance - not repair. But repairs have gone down dramatically too. When was the last time that you replaced a dash lamp? Starter relay? Replaced a turning signal blinker? Replaced a dash voltage regulator? Replaced an oil pump? Serpentine belts last five times as long as the old v-belts. AC compressors last twice as long. Engines last twice as long and run better after 200,000 km than did 1960's engines after 2,000 km. Even water, fuel, and vacuum hoses last much longer.

I've rebuilt one than one classic Mustang (had a '72 and a '69 as daily drivers) but they are called a hobby for a reason. They require constant attention.

So why the shield does not act as a sun sail to blow it out of L2?

It does! The problem is actually that it torques the craft around, not that it pushes the craft back.

There is a comparatively small flap of shield at the aft end of the spacecraft, which torques the craft in the opposite direction of the torque produced by the main shield. I'm not sure how the mechanics of that work, I believe that it was explained in either a Scott Manley video or a Marcus House video.
