we pass a law prohibiting mass layoffs at highly profitable companies?
STILL starting at 8G for the base memory.
Apple - this is disgusting. You haven’t updated your base RAM in like a decade!
Slashdot won’t let me reply in Morse Code.
please explain why we loan children tens of thousands of dollars/year with no regard to their future ability to pay back the loan? We don't care what they study, where they study, about any aptitude they may have for their field of study, etc.?
Because it also creates a mostly permanent Democrat voter base too. THAT’S the prime reason. What is all the student loan forgiveness stuff REALLY about? Buying votes, nothing more.
And conversely, we had innumerable reports of deaths where someone had covid and died being recorded as died from covid. Things like gunshot wounds, car accidents, etc. but if the person tested positive for Covid, it was counted as a Covid death.
Well, that’s one good way to get rid of all those stupid self-checkouts.
No one is going to voluntarily pay for bags at a self-checkout.
They NEVER would have punished them or removed the account. They'd be all "well, we can't really do anything about it, free speech, yadda yadda yadda." It's (D)ifferent because it was Biden.
I tried to do this. But they don't have an English version of their web site at al. Trying to use it with Google Translate is an exercise in frustration.
I emailed them asking about it too and they weren't very helpful.
Nebraska is, I believe, the only state in the country with 100 percent public power. By law.
We also have some of the cheapest and most reliable electricity in the country.
The rail industry finally got paid sick days. But it's a sham. First off, our unions did it without telling us anything. We can't get a copy of whatever agreement they entered into with the railroads.
And secondly, although technically yes, we get a few paid sick days, they COUNT AGAINST US for their attendance policy.
So if I'm at home, puking up a storm, and call in sick, I don't lose pay for that day. But I've got one significant ding against me for attendance.
What might that be?
Apple's navigation is actually extremely good.
I'll keep my cash stuffed under the mattress before I EVER bank with Wells Fargo.
So it was published almost 20,000 years in the future? I mean, by then we probably will have room temperature superconductors!
This is probably an unpopular opinion but I don't care.
Reddit is a BUSINESS. What is the point of a business? To make money. That's not wrong.
It currently costs nothing to start a sub, moderate a sub, and so on.
If you don't like a change that a business makes in order to stay profitable, fine. Leave. Go somewhere else. START YOUR OWN BUSINESS.
But bitching and complaining and acting like a 5 year old with the "FINE! I'll take my ball and go home" attitude does no one any good. It only makes you look petty.
Only through hard work and perseverance can one truly suffer.
