Submission + - Israel using Twitter for Gaza War PR (

DriedClexler writes: The New York Times is reporting on Israel's effort to communicate to the world using a Twitter Account, regarding its recent Gaza Strip conflict. The NYT points out that the Israel Defense Forces recognize, "that success in neutralizing the Hamas movement in Gaza is as much a public relations challenge as a military one". Given Twitter's character limitations, both the visitors and the user "israelconsulate" revert to text-speak, which I found somewhat ... interesting. For example:

"israelconsulate: we R pro nego[tiation]. crntly tlks r held w the PA + tlks on the 2 state soln. we talk only w/ ppl who accept R rt 2 live."
