Daemonax writes: After years of trying to control his computer, Richard Stallman has moved to Windows. The famous hacker is quoted as saying "I've always fought for control over computers, and if there is any system out there that is synonymous with control, it's Windows". When a young Free Software advocate pointed out that "Windows takes control away from you" Stallman quickly sliced him in two with his trusty katana while he installed XEmacs on his new Vista laptop.
It appears that PL/I (and its dialects) is, or will be, the most widely
used higher level language for systems programming.
