This somewhat out-of-mainstream choice has resulted in puzzlement from the New York Times, but we Slashdot readers are proud at finally having our cultural contributions recognized. (The word of the year from the Oxford American Dictionary is "locavore," referring to someone who emphasizes locally-produced foods in their diet.)"
