Submission + - "Vista" name patented by a french TV produ (

Anonymous Coward writes: "As desribed by this article (in french, sorry...), the name "Vista" was chosen and trademarked in 2003 by a french TV producer, Philippe Gildas, for most media (including he web). Apparently, he is trying to put up some TV program for elders.

Microsoft was contacted multiple times about the name conflict, but declined to comment.

Will the Redmond software company offer a Novell-like "patent-protection" to the french producer, enabling him to use Linux on his VHS recorder? Will P. Gildas surrender to heavy monetary bombing? Will future U.S.A. president McCain (and his Ballmer sidekick) discover WMD hidden in Gildas' office, next to his written admission of ties with french-fries eating terrorists?"

If you can't learn to do it well, learn to enjoy doing it badly.
