Submission + - Spintronics in silcon

TeutonTom writes: "Scientific American has an article on the first use of spintronics in silicon. By injecting the electrons into the silicon so that the spins are aligned chips can be produced that require a fraction of the power of current chips. The reduction in power consumption also produces less waste heat."
