Submission + - Ubuntu "init" replacement available in Edg

wasabii writes: Scott James Remnant of Canonical/Ubuntu fame has been quietly working on the next generation replacement for the venerable /sbin/init program. After discarding other efforts such as Sun's SMF for not solving the problem, Apple's launchd for previous license issues, work was started on a new program named Upstart. It has now reached a point where it can be considered "usable", and has thus been uploaded to Edgy.
