But the company has been reinventing itself in 2013, changing its hotel-search interface, making six acquisitions, and pushing into vacation rentals and international markets like China. In a new interview, CEO and founder Steve Kaufer gives some surprising insights into online travel competition, and how he’s pushing his company while times are still good. In addition to Google, Expedia, and Priceline, look out for potential new entrants like Facebook, Apple, and Samsung, though each would face challenges.
