Facebook, in comparison, has over 1.15 billion monthly users. It isn't solely numbers though. Apparently Twitter users check their feeds less frequently than Facebook users (although really there's probably 99.999% overlap here), making advertisers less sure that their ads will be seen. If Twitter wants to command higher ad prices (and turn an actual profit) they'll have to figure out a way to convince more people to more frequently use their service. Such news should also serve as a warning to other social platforms looking to monetize solely through targeted advertising.
