Submission + - Ministry of Sound sues Spotify over compilation playlists (

nk497 writes: The Ministry of Sound is suing Spotify for copyright infringement, claiming that the streaming firm should stop users replicating its compilation albums as playlists. MoS has so far withheld its compilation albums from Spotify, but users of the streaming service have made their own versions — and MoS thinks Spotify should delete those user-generated playlists and block others from making them.

"Unlike others, the largest part of our business comes from sales of compilation albums," a spokesperson for the company said. "We painstakingly create, compile and market our albums all over the world. We help music fans discover new genres, records and classic catalogues."
