Submission + - Seven-Year-Old Nintendo Wii Outselling Seven-Month-Old Wii U (ibtimes.co.uk)

DavidGilbert99 writes: In technology terms seven years is equivalent to several lifetimes. For example when the Wii was launched in 2006, Apple hadn't even unveiled the iPhone yet. Seven years on and you would expect Nintendo to have moved on. But it hasn't. It's successor console the Wii U is failing, and failing badly. In the three months to the end of June it sold just 160,000 units — down 50% on the previous quarter's sales — but more worryingly, this was 50,000 less than sales of the seven year old Wii.
