Submission + - Wearing a mask during 'unlawful' demonstration is now crime in Canada (muktworld.com)

sfcrazy writes: Canadian Senate has passed a bill that bans the covering of one's face during 'unlawful' demonstrations or assemblies with up to 10 years of prison sentence. Bill C-309 is a controversial private Member's Bill introduced by conservative MP Blake Richards. Richards said in a statement, "The provisions of my bill are effective immediately, which means police officers across Canada now have access to these tools to protect the public from masked rioters." The Bill however excludes those who have legal excuse to cover their faces such as the riot police.
