Submission + - "Draconian" Treatment for Imprisoned iPad "Hacker" Weev (vice.com)

tedlistens writes: Andrew “weev” Auernheimer, who is currently serving jail time for exposing an AT&T security hole, is sharing a 10x10 cell in solitary with another inmate, and is let out only three times a week for a 15-minute shower. After visiting weev on Sunday, his lawyer Tor Ekeland called this treatment “odd for someone convicted of a non-violent computer crime,” and “a bit draconian” as it appears “[weev] is being punished for his speech.” Last week, Weev had been placed in solitary confinement reportedly for posting messages to Twitter and SoundCloud.
