Submission + - Icelandic Pirate Party wins 3 seats in parliament.

mordur writes: For the first time in history, Pirates have been elected to a national parliament. The Icelandic Pirate Party, led by Birgitta Jonsdottir of Wikileaks fame got 5.1 % of votes parliamentary elections held yesterday. Having based election rhetoric on transparancy, liquid democracy and underlining the the IMMI project to make Iceland a legislative haven of digital rights, Pirates declare victory.
