Submission + - Big designer fashion label appropriates New York street photographer's work. (humansofnewyork.com)

An anonymous reader writes: "Humans of New York", a street photographer was approached by fashion house DKNY with a request to use 300 of his photographs worldwide (70 locations, $15,000). He replied "thanks but no thanks." Then lo!, a friend in Bangkok spots the 300 photographs in the local store. The photographer is upset, and asks that the fashion house donate $100,000 to the YMCA in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Is this an appropriate request ?
