Submission + - Why is the U.S.P.T.O. is still using Quicktime for display of public records? (untls.net)

Un Bsd writes: "Windows PC users are having problems accessing patent and trademark drawings at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Apple Safari users do not have to bother resolving Quicktime conflicts with common plug-ins for Chrome, IE, and Firefox, or, purchase third-party Quicktime clones recommended by the U.S.P.T.O. for viewing its content. Perhaps the U.S.P.T.O. should permit the open sourced development of a new website incorporating technologies better suited for open access to government records. The author suggests e-mailing the U.S.P.T.O. requesting that Quicktime be ditched and provides a link to an e-mail petition."
