SternisheFan writes: Researchers at the Karolinska Institutet have discovered the secret to stopping criminal behavior among ADHD sufferers: Give them medication. It has been previously documented that ADHD sufferers are more likely to enter a life of crime. Researchers, however, weren’t sure how ADHD medication affects this risk. Researchers set out to determine the existence or nonexistence of this link once and for all. They examined more than 25,000 ADHD sufferers over a four-year period. The researchers found that their analysis revealed the links between ADHD medication and a reduced risk of criminality in numerous ways. For instance, the frequency of criminal behavior was lower among medicated individuals than unmedicated individuals (this also proved true when comparing medication with no medication in the same individual). Researchers discovered that ADHD medication lowers the risk of criminal activity by 32 percent. By studying the same individual, researchers proved the risk reduction is most likely not due to differences between participants on medication and those not.
The only possible interpretation of any research whatever in the `social
sciences' is: some do, some don't.
