Facebook stroing passwords in plaintext

  • Don't be stupid. How could you tell even if they were? My password has slowly got stronger over the years, and some are heavily-malformed versions of previous ones, with capitals or symbols in place of the original plain letters. When have mistakenly typed old passwords, Facebook hints that I changed my password x months ago and when I change my password periodically Facebook reminds me if I've already used that one before.

  • They convert all passwords to lower or upper case before securing.

    • Oh, I must have gotten a brain freeze when posting it. Still, it means that it doesn't matter if you vary the case inside your password.

If all else fails, lower your standards.
