Submission + - What's the best way to stream audio from a PC to a pre-amp?

sammy_cda writes: I have a two part question about digital music. The first part is where can I buy digital music that is not compressed such as a mp3.

I want to stream my music to a pre-amp so I can play it through my stereo system. I know I can use iTunes and stream it to an Airport Express then use a RCA cable to plug into the pre-amp but I'm sure I'm giving up audio quality to do this. So any ideas about a sound card that will work for Windows or Linux that I can connect to the pre-amp with a cable without a lot of distortion or loss?
