A growing cadre of scientists now suspect that Pons and Fleischmann’s observations were the result not of fusion but of more plausible physical processes. Some are even cautiously optimistic that those processes could be exploited to generate abundant amounts of clean energy. “There’s enough evidence that says we need to look at this,” says Joseph Zawodny, a physicist at NASA’s Langley Research Center in Virginia.

"...if LENRs could be proved and tamed—a very big if—the effect could be transformative. Dennis Bushnell, chief scientist at NASA Langley, wrote in an online article that LENRs could potentially satisfy the world’s energy needs at a quarter the cost of coal. "

There is no assertion in the article that it does work. They merely say that there is an explanation for the observed results using known physics and that more investigation is warranted.

  • Mr Rossi's reactor is still unproven to anyone that isn't his cheerleader.
The Fox Mulder's of the world will line up behind him, while the Dana Scully's will say, humm, nothing fundamental has been proven.
I'm somewhat resented cause when Mr Rossi first announced his work, I believed him. Now I'm firmly on the fence. If his work was that great, he wouldn't be giving out demo's of equipment in a lab. He would be showing his equipment heating and powering his factory, showing that his plant is either unplugged

      Who said anything about Rossi?

      • Without Mr. Rossi's reactor, LENR right now is just curiosity, without any viable applications.
He's the only name in the game claiming to have a mass produceable, viable product.
Everyone else is just proving the LENR effect.
