Submission + - Google announces $250 Samsung Chromebook (geek.com)

An anonymous reader writes: A typical Chromebook costing around $350–too close to a more fully-featured laptop with a much higher spec. But today Google is trying to rectify that stumbling block for consumers by introducing a new Chromebook with Samsung that costs just $250.

For that you get an 11.6-inch display (1366 x 768), 6.5 hours of battery life, 2GB RAM, 100GB of Google Drive Cloud Storage (for 2 years), dual band a/b/g/n WiFi, a VGA camera, HDMI port (for 1080p output), and Bluetooth 3.0. All that comes packaged in a laptop that’s just 0.8-inches thick, weighs 1.1Kg, and boots in under 10 seconds.
