An anonymous reader writes: Now that the Kindle Touch is open, we need developers to write programs for it. The Touch even has accellerometer, proximity sensor, and microphone (all currently unused) just waiting for new applications to use them. And this time, the kindle GUI has a plug-in framework just begging for new plug-ins.

Very newsworthy. Especially notice that the jailbreaking payload is in mp3 metadata. So just playing an mp3 file on Kindle touch can execute code as root. I wonder how long it will take for the first wave of malware to get distributed this way. This is very severe security problem .
