Submission + - World's Fair Use Day a Success (worldsfairuseday.org)

neonfrog writes: I was surprised (and pleased!) to hear on National Public Radio this morning a story about fair use. NPR reported on World's Fair Use Day, which was Friday, February 12th. (No Slashdot story before the event?! I feel unfairly used!). Sponsored by a few notables, including Google, WFUD was an all day affair held in DC. Representative Mike Doyle (D-PA) gave the keynote in which he said, "...If Warhol was prohibited from using Brillo boxes or Campbell Soup cans as subjects for his paintings, then we wouldn't know Andy Warhol today..." The event was put on by Public Knowledge, a "Washington DC based public interest group working to defend your rights in the emerging digital culture."
