Normally I don't load beta versions on my primary phone until they are pretty far along, but some features in this release drew me into loading it early - so far, only minor glitches and otherwise it's been nice.

    • I've run the betas mostly on my iPad the last couple of years, but because I'm working from home now, it's a lot less important that my phone be super-stable and have a full-day battery. I'm willing to put up with some unexpected battery drain to get at some of these new features.

  • This seems pretty fast for moving from Developer Betas to Public Betas. And I haven't read any horror stories, or even major gripes (other than the typical battery-drain issues that seem to come with major iOS versions); so perhaps this will be stable from the get-go.

In fact, I spoke with a support tech from my cable provider that said about 2 weeks ago that he had been running iOS 14 beta on his iPhone 11, and was completely happy with the stability and performance. I know, anecdotes...

Can't wait to read the inevitable Gordon Kelly click bait at Forbes that screams about a shocking revelations that all apple users are in for a big, nasty surprised that they will be furious about... and then proceed to detail some minor glitch or barely-used removed feature or some conceptual, not-actually-realized potential for a problem, or some if-misconfigure-these-10-things vulnerability, or something like that.

Forbes, one a respectable business rag, is now just another clickbait site. Business needs to know the overall costs and benefits of a product. Even if there is basis, the information is useful. Forbes is now just bias to generate ad hits.
    • I'm about to go back to my Galaxy III. Is it better to wait for that article first?
  • "Apple Releases Public Beta version of iOS 14, iPadOS 14, and tvOS 14" There, now I don't have to think "What, what? Apple released iOS 14? iPadOS 14?, tvOS 14? Oh, to "public beta testers"...... Come on.
  • all of the public was beta testers for apples terrible software
