Disevidence's Journal: Searching takes time

I've looked everywhere in my city, and every single online store in Australia, and guess what? None sell the standard edition, and a bare few sell the boxed Powerpack edition of Mandrake.

Put it this way. If you want mandrake, and your in Australia, order through either Dymocks or through Mandrake's own store .

That said, i've done the partitioning through FDisk , and i'll be installing tommorow. Im just hoping all goes well.

You really don't need 7 CDs or whatever this "powerpack" thing is to get going with Mandrake. You can easily get going with the first CD and then use RPM to get whatever else you need.

If you have a modem or otherwise slow connection, I'd be happy to send you a CD(actually I have CD's 1,2, and 3 of Mandrake 8.1) Assumming we could figure out a way for you to cover shipping. I think Mandrake is a great way to go for Linux newbies.
