Journal antispam_ben's Journal: Spam promoting johnkerry.com

I received this and three other identical spams promoting John Kerry for President and his website johnkerry.com.

Late note: This is a phishing expedition. This link claims to accept contributions through a "secure" website:
http://testhost.yahoogoogle.biz/JohnKerry/contribute.html
Any contributions through this link surely go to the spammer only.

Comments invited.

Technical note: I copy-pasted the spam with >-type quotemarks, and despite my efforts it appears some the spam's HTML gets interpreted rather than displayed. Sorry about that, though if you really want to see the original, "View Source" in your browser should show it.

I sent the following to the contact weform at:
http://www.johnkerry.com/contact/contact.php

Are you aware of this unsolicited email sent out on your behalf? This was also sent to three other email addresses I own which only get spam (and which I WILL NOT SHARE with you nor the actual sender of this email).

The part about "respecting privacy" is untrue, because my email addresses were improperly shared with the sender to begin with. At no time have I ever requested political emails from anyone.

The headers indicate this was not actually sent from johnkerry.com, but it may have been send from a spammer or "targeted email advertiser" hired by the Karry campaign.

Know that this practice will hurt the Kerry campaign, and you should make every effort to stop the sending of email to anyone who didn't ask for it.

For more info on spam and why it is bad, to the links on this page:

While the vast majority of spam is ccommercial in nature, there are other cases of political spam as well as religious spam. The most important objections to commercial spam also apply to other types of spam, including political.

Just a few dollars can make the difference on Election Day. Since March

Every contribution large or small helps. John Kerry's campaign will
