Journal toasted_calamari's Journal: A slashdot feature idea 1

I've always thought It would be interesting to be able to see what articles were rejected and never actually posted to the site. Of course, most of these would probably be crap (LOLOLOLOGNAAGOATSE.CX and hay guys check this out), but it seems that there are alot of stories that the editors just don't have space for. Does anyone know if rejected stories are kept on the servers? If so, it might be cool to have a subscriber option to view these stories.

Anyone else think so, or am I just a nut?

A slashdot feature idea

  • Rejected stories are not kept on the server, other than an entry in each account that a story with X subject was rejected on X date.

Creating a section where all rejected stories are posted for all to see would not be a difficult patch to Slashcode, but it would, however bloat the amount of data storage being used on the domain exponentially as anyone even without an account could submit tons of worthless crap to the server.

Though I'd argue that that is no different than anonymous posting in an article. Fo
