I ordered the USB adapter from Lik-Sang today so that I could do the chipless Linux on XBox. In particular, I wanted to hear some comments from people who have installed xbox-linux for the purpose of running a remote MythTV frontend.

  • I'm actually awaiting info about Myth on Xbox myself, but I thought I'd reply to an earlier Journal you posted.

    You mentioned the article on flat-panel TVs and I wanted to point out a drawback the article doesn't mention. The vast majority of these put out resolutions way lower than you think they do.

    Check the specs on almost any "HDTV" plasma monitor. They mostly all say they accept a 1080i input, but they DON'T say they give a 1080i ouput. In fact, the vast majority of these monitors only display abou
    • Thanks for taking the time out to lend a hand, TW. Much appreciated. I'm interested in gutting my computer room and reclaiming the room as living space. I'm not much of a movie watcher, but I do have digital cable which carries some HD channels, including Flyers and Phillies games.

      I guess I'm more interested in freeing up floor space with a nice-sized wallmount flatscreen. Size is more important than quality, but its certainly something I would need to check out before making such a hefty investment.
