I have an idea for a new source control system. Attach a FPS, and for all conflicts, you must duke it out to determine if your code gets overwritten, or you do the writing.

A duel to the death? No! To the pain! First you will lose your fingers, then your hands at the wrist, then come your toes followed by your feet...

What am I talking about? I work in an office with 2 programmers and no version control. Never mind.

Aside: No. I have never had to use that line while I've had CVS-write access to the Slash codebase. Honestly!

Now, a clever man would put the patch into his own code, because he would know that only a great fool would patch what he was written. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not patch the code in front of you. But you must have known I was not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not patch the code in front of me!

Ah! that's the funniest thing i've read in days! *wiping tears of laughter as giggles continue to work their way to the surface* Now coding, as you know, originates in australia, which is peopled entirely with criminals... and criminals are used to not being trusted, as you are not trusted by me, so i can clearly not patch the code in front of you!

(they were both patched, i've spent the last five years building up an immunity to software bugs.)
