Journal Disco Stu's Journal: JournalJournalJournal

I just set up a Wiki at work. It took all of 10 minutes. I'm hoping it will be better than email for an asynchronous discussion we're having. It seems like a lot of the things email is used for in a work environment would be better done using something like a wiki. Here are the concerns I have so far:
  • Unfamiliarity -- Is it doomed to fail because not all of my coworkers are familiar with the wiki concept? I doubt it, but we'll see.
  • Security -- The wiki software I used is just *too* restrictive, considering that it can only be accessed by my coworkers. It filters out all HTML, which makes posting diagrams and tables inline impossible.
  • Need to convert to other formats -- If this little experiment is successful, it will produce output that will need to be captured in another format, (probably a Wurd doc). I'll need to write a script to parse the Wiki to produce it.

One think that would be great would be the ability to diagram direcly into the thing. An embedded Visio or Together would be ideal, but there may be realistic options to someone with a lot of time on their hands....we'll see.
