Journal deadgoon42's Journal: Stop the whining (a bitch about whining) 2

In reference to this article on Low End Mac, I'd like to say to everyone, STOP YOUR WHINING about OS X! First of all, the author claims that he is an IT consultant and that he recommends that people stay with MacOS 9. If I was paying this guy, I'd demand my consulting fee be refunded. This is like a Windows consultant recommending someone go with Windows ME instead of XP. And instead of backing up this recommendation with some major problem he has discovered in OS X, he commences to whining about minor user interface issues and other problems that aren't really porblems at all. I'll let you read the article for yourself to find out what an idiot this guy is. My main point here is that the Mac community needs to realize that OS 9 is DEAD! And it's not coming back! So I recommend that if you like Macs and want to continue to use them in the future, you should learn OS X now and be done with it. New Macs will not even boot into OS 9 and anyone who tells you to stick with OS 9 has absolutely no interest in your future, they are only considering their own self interests and hatred for OS X.

If you've already decided to go with the newest version no matter what, why would you be paying a consultant?
    • I sat here trying to think of some way to answer your question, but I suppose you make a good point. I am the type of person who researches his own stuff and sometimes it irks me when people listen to a consultant and take his word for the gospel. Most of these consultants have deals with major vendors and so they make money off of you and off the vendor after they persuade you to buy the vendor's products. I suppose that a shrewd business person would see the conflict of interest and seek other opinions
