Journal benna's Journal: Why war is still a bad idea

Ok, so we won. Did anyone ever have any doubt in this? So why is the admin making such a big deal about it. I would argue that because we won so easily (and yes one death is bad but lets be honest it was easy) this proves the antiwar movement's point. If he was so easily defeated he could not have been much of a threat now could he. If he did have WMD and used them we could easily have taken him out. OK, so now the "they are a threat" excuse is out the window. Lets move on to the WMD them selves. Who has the most nuclear weapons of any country in the world? The US does at a whopping 10,000. Yet someone I don't see IAEA inspectors in the US. Why not? Its because its not about WMD. Israel has about 100 nuclear weapons and would probobly use them if they were attacked by any arab countries. This is probobly the biggest threat of nuclear war. We don't seem to worried about this though. Its because the U.S. likes the leadership in Israel. They also don't have any oil. We already have access to their land for military if we needed it. So we don't care. So this can't be about WMD. Next I will offer the real reason why we are doing this and no I don't think its completely oil. It probobly is partially but its mostly something else. After the end of the cold war the U.S. needed an excuse to keep its huge military. The cold war was the first excuse and was designed by Americans as a sort of economic plan. Now we need a new excuse. That new excuse came as a gift from god to george bush on 9/11/01. It was probobly the happiest day of his life. He had a new excuse, a war on terrorism. Now we all know Iraq is not REALLY related to terrorism. They may have some groups in the country but these groups hate the regime. There are groups like this in the U.S. but you don't see us attacking ourselves. No, this is just an excuse to keep a large military. In the process we may get some oil out of the deal. Lets all just hope (and more than that act) that bush's plans are stopped in 2004.
