Journal OutdoorStack's Journal: What all do I need to go fishing

Fishing continues to be my favorite hobby. Ever since I was young, I liked visiting the lake with my parents. Slowly, the culture of fishing was inculcated in me. Today, I know what it takes before someone leaves the house for the lake to fish. In this article, I make a list of all the essentials that one needs to go fishing.

1. Selecting the right place for fishing
The lake is a big water body and not all the places have fish. In that case, I have places that I know I have a higher likelihood of finding fish. Before leaving the house, I usually have a laid out plan for a spot that I am going to fish. Obviously, if I noticed that the number of fish available in the last place I fished has reduced, then I will move to a new fishing spot.

2. Gathering the elementary equipment for fishing
Fishing is an activity that requires equipment without which it is pointless to leave the house. Personally, I always have equipment such as a fishing rod, fishhook, ringing beads, fishing swivel, fishing wire and fishing rod in place. It is important to note that fixing the equipment also requires some basic techniques.

3. Fishing Bait
The fishing process is also useless if there are no baits in place. I like to use live baits such as prawns for fishing. The baits lure the fish into swallowing the hook making it easy for me to fish them from the water. I prefer live baits because stiff ones have a higher probability of scaring the fishes away rather than attracting them to the hook.

4. A fishing kayak
Before I came to understand the fishing process, I used to think that any kayak could do the trick as long as it can float on water. However, that is not true. I use special sit-in fishing kayak that has a place where you can fix the fishing road. Even though you might come across a regular kayak that helps you to fish, fishing kayaks are amazing for fishing. Their design is suitable for the function.

5. An experienced fisher for beginners
When I started to learn fishing, I thought that having all the equipment in place was enough. I remember I hid and went to the lake with my parentsâ(TM) knowledge thinking I could catch the fish alone. I ended coming back home empty handed even though I had all the equipment. In that case, it is important to have the company of an experienced fisher to guide you through if you are a beginner. In my case, my parents guided me.

Conclusion
Fishing is an activity that requires proper planning. Having all the equipment in place is mandatory. Pick a fishing region in advance and ensure that all the equipment is working well before leaving the house. Some of this equipment includes fishing rod, fishing wire, ringing bells and fishing hook. Also, have fishing baits (preferably live) in place. A fishing kayak will also come in handy. If you are a beginner, walk in the company of an experienced fisher.
