Journal chloroquine's Journal: Five minutes on the timer

So, somehow reading some sector of this site, the subject of strange superstitions of the bosskind came up. Or rather I free associated to the subject.
Lately, my boss has been getting out of control. He's generally superstitious about things - hates it when you do anything that involves the number thirteen. I once intentionally ran a gel using samples 13 to 31, just because I was annoyed with him. And yes, he did notice. I caught him wincing when I told him the lane order.
Yesterday he came in with this little bottle of holy water he picked up whilst in New Mexico at a conference. He went to Chimayo to a church there and got it. Now he's been prancing around lab demanding that he sprinkle it on everyone's bench. Now generally his silliness is fine with me, but I'm a tad bit Jewish and I'm not ultra cool with the holy water thing. I guess I should have a better sense of humour about this stuff, but I already have to budget my sense of humour for when the boss tries to look down my shirt.
Oh well. Such is life.
On the research front, I'm steadily moving forward as I reconfirm the association of this set of proteins. I got some clones yesterday that are going to make my life easier in terms of working with this stuff. So I'm in the middle of doing a transfection. Hence the timer. Which is about to go off.
