damn_registrars's Journal: So what was Milo's book Dangerous supposed to be about?

On my way home from work I couldn't seem to escape news coverage of the "conservative provocateur" having his book canceled after being recorded praising pedophilia.

What I couldn't seem to figure out for anything though is what his canceled book was actually supposed to be about. The Amazon entry for it only told me its length, title, and author; not a single word about its content - and that Amazon entry is now gone. Some of the news coverage was bragging about how well it was doing in pre-sales - did he really sell a huge number of books based only on his name and an exceptionally vague title?

What it's about? Simple.

It's about a gay guy yanking the chains of the people he hates the most to get people to buy his books. He claims lesbians don't exist, as just one example, and of course he hates on the target-du-jour - male-to-female transsexuals. He's just part of the gay white mafia that sees lesbians and m2f transsexuals (straight, bi, or lesbian) as trash.

I don't have any reason to contest that, but do you have any sources to back it up? If that was the entire subject matter of it, then why would so many conservatives rush out to pre-order it? Even as much energy as the GOP has put in to attacking and suppressing anyone who is not straight, white, male, and Christian, this doesn't seem like a topic that a lot of their base would want to put energy into reading up on.

Or were they just buying it to put on their bookshelves next to the latest books from C

Well, according to the wikipedia page [wikipedia.org] it was supposed to be 320 pages. I was just surprised that there was apparently a large amount of interest in a page when all that was known about it was the title, length, and author.

It is suggested on the wikipedia page about the author [wikipedia.org] that the book may have been intended to be autobiographical. I guess that means it belongs in the fiction category then...
