I'm pretty sure I predicted this months (if not longer) ago, but now some Trump supporters are working hard to build momentum for repealing the 19th amendment . They don't seem terribly concerned about the fact that they would have pretty well zero chance of pulling it off between now and election day, and any effort to do it after would be even more futile. I might be over-generalizing here but I doubt the 20 women in the senate or the 84 in the house would be enthusiastic about repealing their own right to vote, even if it prevented Hillary from becoming the first female president.

No. Modern slavery is paying people wages that are so low they have no chance to improve their lives. Modern slavery is denying people any opportunity to acquire skills and education to qualify for better jobs. That is simply idiotic. Renters can absolutely be invested in their community. They just happen to be smart enough to realize that the myth of making money on your own house has finally burst and you're better off not having that albatross around your neck. Beyond that, being anchored down by a mortgage can be a serious impediment to career establishment or advancement in this country. It's normal now for people to change careers multiple times before they die (for many the dream of retirement is over)

If it weren't for renters, the owners wouldn't be owners - they'd be broke and have to become renters. Renters are the ones who pay the mortgage, the taxes, etc. Maybe they should be given a double vote, since not only are they paying all that, they're also supporting the landlord (maybe they should be able to declare the landlord as a dependent, since the landlord is truly dependent on renters).
Since the renters are paying the mortgage, they should also be the ones to get the interest deduction as well.
