Journal tqft's Journal: Not looking pretty 4

Kind of glad we couldn't afford to go to Hawaii - going somewhere a bit closer and a hell of a lot saner. Maybe next year things will have sorted themselves out.

What kind of country is the USA?

If these were isolated incidents

there wouldn't be too much to fret on. But the noises coming out of various places seem to keep making sounds like control, censorship and command.

  • Will you invade us, try and win our hearts and minds and rebuild our schools, roads, and other infrastructure? I think most of us would welcome it at this point.

Only if we can install a working public health system, build a national broadband network, impose a carbon tax and super profits tax on miners.

    • Fat chance... The US has nukes, and from what I gather, don't accept their military power to be challenged. Who would liberate the US anyway? We, Europeans, are pretty much completely demilitarized, which is partially due to the US saying "Hey, we'll protect you... No need to make efficient war machines yourself". If I would be a conspiracy theorist, I'd say that was planned, but I'm not...

Who else has the power? The Chinese? I'd hardly call that a liberation.

Invasion/Liberation in the name of Freedo

      • The US is screwed... and by extension, so is the World.

Unless of course, as individuals we liberate ourselves.. Might take an eon or two, but it's not beyond the realm of possibility. Time will tell.

It is easier to write an incorrect program than understand a correct one.
