It was a fake, anyway. You got the Democrat viewpoint ("Marijuana should remain illegal") and the Repubican viewpoint ("Marijuana should remain illegal"). The Democrat viewpoint ("We should extend copyright to insane lengths") and the Repubican viewpoint ("We should extend copyright to insane lengths").
Who heard the viewpoint "getting into an Iraq war is stupid and will bankrupt us?"
This didn't change anything, but the internet holds promise of doing just that.

Most Democrats I know think MJ should be legal and taxed and copyright restored to the original 17 year with renewals during lifetime granted only to the Person (not Corporation, they aren't People) who authored it.
And that it's time to bring all our troops home now.

Maybe the both of you should qualify that to say *influential* democrats. The rest, like Kucinich, et al, are a bunch of weenies who will get nowhere. And remember that legal weed has a very low profit potential, since cultivation, processing, and consumption require hardly any big business infrastructure to facilitate the control of its distribution the way all other intoxicants do, so don't expect any progress there..

Actually, in Washington State, we have TWO initiatives to legalize MJ - one is a total repeal of prohibition and one is to treat it as we do hard liquor and tax it and sell it through WSLCBs.

Well, first, the feds won't allow it. Bipartisanship all around on that one. And second, expect the propaganda machine to work its magic, just like in California, where even so called *libertarians* voted it down... for lack of sufficient bureaucratic controls no less.
