I enjoy the stories - though I have to confess I don't know anyone opposed to legal immigration. I don't know anyone who's ever stated that they have an issue with legal Mexican immigrants. I know a ton of people (being from the Southwest) that have real problems with illegal immigration.

Me, I think the status quo is incredibly immoral and the people being punished the most are the illegals. And as long as we keep things the way they are those people will continue to be victimized. We need immigration refor

I don't think the events you've put together have anything to do with one another. I think that it makes some people comfortable to classify the entire thing as a race issue because it makes it all very simple with a 'good' and 'bad' side. The problem is that at the bottom of it all, it isn't a racism problem but it is a severe problem. There are racists involved of course but they don't represent the majority of the people engaged in this issue, they certainly don't explain the drive to do something.
