Triv's Journal: movin' out

Hell yes. After suffering the degradation of living in what amounts to a retirement home (IE, Queens County, NYC) for close to two years, the girl and I are moving away from the roommate- whose-primary-qualities-shall-not-be-named into Manhattan. Not even a dangerous, evil part of Manhattan, but 26th street. 4 blocks from school. A quick 20 minute busride from work (instead of the hellish 80 minute bus-train-train-walk combo I'm working with now). Hardwood floors. Southern exposure. Lower power bills. Blocks from everything (like, oh, I dunno bars with people my age in them), lotsa food, cheap groceries and delis. In short, heaven.

I initally moved to Queens to get away from my parents - it needed to be done, but getting away from home isn't worth completely destroying what are supposed to be the FUN years of my life.

When I told the roommate she...well, she wasn't happy. But after 2 years of dealing with her viral nature (spreading to any clean part of the apartment like a fungus) I'm ready to slap her. She's lucky I didn't just move out in the middle of the night when she wasn't there. Bah.

I start moving Sunday. Giddygiddygiddy.

wow. I didn't think you'd be taking me seriously. That's awsome.

Today it was in the 50's but it was snowing yesterday. It's a little odd weather-wise right now. To be specific, the housewarming'd be either april 4th or 5th, probably the 4th (the girl's working til 10:30 on the 5th). You'd be more than welcome. :)

Hmmmm... snow? Well, it's sunny and about 78 right now in SoCal.

I would love to come and celebrate you're new pad, but I think it's not feasible with work and my wife (she wants Vegas, not New York). And since we're trying to get pregnant, I gotta go with Sin City. :)

I origionaly moved down to glassburo NJ to my college here to get out of the city as well. (I'm brooklyn born and raised.) I proably would have gotten along with my room mate better if I had been a stoner. But I wasn't and he was a jerk anyway. We never talked and he'd bitch about me to his friends who would do wierd shit to me about it. I'd be bitter but at the begining of this semester I left and now have a much better room mate. Albiet he's a little wierd - he's a good guy.
