Drop T-Shirt or go to jail!

  • Yeah, this was discussed on one of my local geek mailing lists. And some of my local correspondents found some followup links.

Here is the security guard's actual report. [thesmokinggun.com]

There was another link to a story that the mall wanted to drop the charges.

I predicted the guards in question would be fired.

Various not a lawyers suggested that a bar ejecting an unruly patron was different than a mall management ejecting one of their tenants customers, and that the mall would lose on their trespass charge.

Also unreported in the original story, these t-shirts were not factory printed. They were printed, while-you-wait. Apparently, a crowd of fans of peace all congregated at the mall, wearing peace themed t-shirts, to test to see whether mall security would confront all of them. No wonder the management would like to forget the charges...

No kidding, that could quickly become a popular sport.
