It turned here 20 minutes ago, yet the fireworks are only just starting now.

Odd that. (And the dogs aren't particularly pleased either...)

Since it is also a time for personal inventory and a bit more navel gazing than usual, just remember to give yourself as much credit as you do debt.

Luckily no :-) Folks around here save some of the Fourth of July fireworks and then set them off at New Years. Luckily not many. Zack, my lab/border collie, hates loud noises and just freaked. But, he's all better today of course. My Sharpei/Pitbull mix was fine: but that's only because no one uses vacuum cleaners :-)

Aw fuck... That happens when you open two tabs with people talking about the New Year. In this case, I obviously meant: Happy New Year Shadow Wrought. Many excuses for the mixup!

I totally understand that. I used to feel the same way myself. But, as I've gotten older, I find myself examining my life more. So a date like New Years Day is a pretty good time to assess where I've been and where I'm trying to go. I haven't a clue if that will ever change for you or not, but I think at least a decade, if not a decade and a half on you.
