Journal Shadow Wrought's Journal: Yogi in 3D 16

Saw the trailer during the game. I kept waiting for it to be some parody for some other product. Axe, Old SPice, Budweiser, Lexus: anything.

Alas, no. It is a live action 3D with CGI Yogi and Boo-Boo.

It really is.

  • I bet that right there will be some high-quality cinema. Suppose it'll win at Cannes?!

    • I'm sure it'll win something at Cannes :-)

I mean, you see it and think, "This is a joke, right? RIGHT?" And then, it's just not. The premise alluded to in the trailer was that Jellystone needed visitors, so Yogi, and I wish to any and all of the Gods that I was making this up, appears to do water-skiing tricks to bring in the tourists.

So, the answer to the question, what could be worse than a 3D Live Action/CGI Yogi is actually, the version of it that they're making! I mean, was there any real plo
  • I know exactly where you are coming from - but as the parent of 3 who thought that "Alvin and the Chipmunks 2: The Squeakquel" was incredibly awesome - there is an audience for this film. My kids are smack dab in the middle of it.

    • I am expecting a FULL review! :-)

My apologies. I too have watched many a movie while rolling my eyes and trying to not ruin it for everyone else. It is a tough walk. Just make sure to remember it so you can give it to your Grandkids someday!
      • Our kids don't go to the theater often. When they do it is usually with other kids and it's a mom's get together thing. But something like this - if I do end up watching it, it will be on Netflix a while from now.

I usually only join in on the movie theater trips for kids movies if they look at least half decent.

Yeah, I saw the trailer while watching Harry Potter the other day. I too was waiting for it to be a spoof. But no, it's the real thing.
    • I've since talked to people who are actually excited. Otherwise normal, sane adults no less. I think that means we're doomed.
  • I saw the trailer; holy hell it looks awful. A veritable crapfest, in 3D even!

    • I actually thought of you when I saw it! Well, both of us...

I'm still thinking about that mid-life career change, and animation is definitely on the table. Then I see something like this and think, "Holy hell, whatif that's my job!" Of then I remember I work in the legal now now anyway.

      I've done worse.

If you are still into making games, there are plenty of possibilities there too :-) Plus you don't have to quit your day job.

        • Oh I still am. I'm not sure what I want to do. I just hit my 10 year mark in the legal field, so I'm thinking another 5 and then a new career. Whatever in the Hell that may be! :-)
