IMPORTANT security note: Keyword poisoning on searches related to the mektek outage and the MW4 free release have already started to pop up in pretty high ranking search results. I've already logged 10 sites that lead to FAKE AV malwares. If you're googling the stuff related to this, be extra cautious, unless you run something other than Windows. Even then, there are still a few Firefox exploits might that halfway work on Linux. ;) Please pass this around. To me, this seems to a be a breach of Nerd Respec

I'm guessing it's showing up on Google Trends or something similar and the scammers automatically pick up on it and generate the appropriate search engine optimized set of pages to pull in traffic.

In addition, as I've learned from the most popular referer feature in drupal, spammers and the like simply use google to search for signs that they have an opportunity, for example searching for "reply to this comment" and then the text of a common spam, say "ugg sale" which is one that I was hit with pretty hard. I've got my filters trained up now though. Hopefully they're not off into false-positive land but I never have got that many comments anyway. They know if someone else spammed you that they probab
