Journal Hatta's Journal: Metamoderation, wtf? 2

It used to be that metamoderation was just that, moderation of moderation. I haven't metamoderated in a while, but something has gone horribly wrong. When I go to metamod today, none of the comments are moderated. All I see is "Score: 1". What use is it for me to judge whether a comment has been moderated appropriately , when there's no moderation applied?

Just another reason Slashdot 2.0 sucks.

    I read the little metamoderation blurb. I quote:

    "Clicking the + and - indicates that you think that a comment is good or bad. You are welcome to skip any comment that you are unsure about"

    That's not metamoderation, that's moderation. Metamoderation would be indicating whether we think that the moderation is good or bad. This is just stupid.

  • Metamoderation has been broken for a while. And before it was broken it was useless. And before it was useless it was ineffective. Hence you have to go back at least three revisions just to find a version of metamoderation that actually accomplished was the name implies (and what the description used to describe).

    Anyone who has done metamoderation anytime in the past 12 months or so can tell you it has been quite some time since we last actually moderated moderations. Which largely gives people with m
