Journal Kiralan's Journal: Amazon offer to replace '1984' and 'Animal Farm' on Kindles

Amazon.com Inc. is offering free download of the books or $30 to Kindle customers whose copies of the George Orwell novels "1984" and "Animal Farm" were deleted from their electronic reading devices in July. Amazon apparently obtained licenses for the same versions, so any annotations readers have made will work again. I give them some points for this, but not as many as if they would promise never to do this again, or outright diable that ability from the firmware.
