cellurl's Journal: New ways to improve the DC Metro.

After the disastrous DC Metro crash last week, I was wondering how would slashdot users improve on this highly automated system? They have sensors and a human at the front of the train. I am about to ride the metro in a few weeks and I am hesitant. My guess is the aging Metro needs sensor repair or computer upgrade, but I don't know what would make me feel safe again?
